Short version: your writing stays yours. No accounts, no database, no copies of your text on our side.
Tools that run entirely in your browser
The AI detector, essay checker, instant grammar checks, readability scores, word/character/sentence counters, reading-time calculator and the two-text comparison all run as code in your browser. The text you paste into them is never sent to us.
AI features
Four buttons send text off your device, and only when you click them: “Get a second opinion”, “Check with AI” (grammar), “Rewrite” (readability) and “Search for matching sources” (plagiarism). The passage goes through our server to our AI provider via Vercel AI Gateway, is processed to produce your answer, and is not stored by us. We don’t use it to train anything. Please don’t paste confidential or personal information into the AI features.
What is stored in your browser
To make the tools convenient, this site saves the following in your browser’s local storage (not cookies, and never sent to us):
- your current draft, so your text follows you from tool to tool and survives a reload;
- your last 40 scans on the History page;
- your chosen reading and speaking speeds.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and doesn’t collect the text you paste. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and to enforce fair-use limits on the AI features.
